Overview

This is an OSS Academy® Search Warrant Execution online training course offered for Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.

A crime has been committed and you have credible information that one of the items stolen is in a residence in your jurisdiction. The homeowner has a lengthy criminal history and is known for refusing consent to search. Getting into the residence to search will obviously require a search warrant. Do you know what is required to have a search warrant issued in your jurisdiction? Do you know how to execute the warrant? Are you familiar with required time constraints, inventories, and returns? Failure to perform all of these steps properly can result in all of the evidence you obtained being dismissed, and possibly even criminal or civil charges against you. This course explains the technical and administrative issues involved in obtaining and executing a search warrant.

Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.
