Overview

This is the OSS Academy® Body-Mounted Cameras online training course offered for Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.

Note, this particular storefront listing is not the TCOLE accredited course. To purchase the TCOLE accredited Body Worn Cameras #8158 course, click here.

This course covers the very timely topic of body-worn cameras employed by law enforcement officers. The public has become educated on the use of dash-camera videos in patrol vehicles, and the resulting videos have become an expected extension of the traffic stop. As the use of public cellphone camera recordings of officers increases, officers now have their own live-incident recording tool, but not everyone accepts the concept. Here, we discuss legal considerations, 2nd Amendment rights, reasonable expectation of privacy, and control and access to the video, once the recording is made, as well as policy and tactical considerations.

Please note, the entire course (including any applicable course parts), final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive two (2) hours of course credit.

Overview

This is an OSS Academy® Bomb Threat Response online training course offered for Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.

Bomb threats and bombings have become a reality in today's world. The dilemma for law enforcement agencies is that they seldom know who is calling in the threat, or indeed if the threat is valid. Is it a student calling a threat into a school because he wasn't prepared to take a test that day, or a student calling in a threat because they are a sociopath and frustrated and they actually want to destroy the school, or worse, injure other students? Is it someone calling in a bomb threat because they think it will be a fun prank, or is it someone who actually intends to halt the operations of a place of business or an organization, or even injure innocent people?

Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.
