Overview
This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Intelligence-Led Policing online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
The world of law enforcement intelligence has changed dramatically since September 11, 2001. Law enforcement agencies have taken on a variety of new responsibilities. Intelligence is just one, albeit a very important, function of the new policing responsibilities in this homeland security era of law enforcement. Intelligence disciplines have evolved significantly in recent years, as various forms of military intelligence and analysis are adopted for civilian policing. As these various trends have emerged, increasing numbers of American law enforcement agencies have begun to explore the intelligence function and the philosophy of Intelligence Led Policing as a natural extension of community oriented policing concepts being employed by many agencies in the United States, Canada, and Europe. This course will introduce you to the basics of Intelligence Led Policing.
Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.

The description of this refined model is contained in two resources, IPC: Interpersonal Communications Skills for Correctional Management, 1977, and IPC: Interpersonal Communications Skills for Correctional Management Trainers Guide, 1977.

Overview
This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Intoxicated Driver Management online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
You are on patrol when you observe a vehicle stopping long before it arrives at the red light. Then it pulls forward and stops several times until it arrives at the appropriate stopping point for the light. Do you know, statistically speaking, what the probability is that the driver is intoxicated? Can you stop the vehicle and speak with the driver based on what you have just observed? You decide to stop the vehicle. You ask for a drivers license and observe the driver pass by the license three times before you point out to him where his license is. Having observed all of this can you ask the driver about his alcohol consumption that evening? Can you require him to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests or is that a violation of his constitutional rights? This course will answer these and many more questions about handling the intoxicated driver.
Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.

Overview
This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Investigative Detention online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
Of all police field operations that deter and thwart crime, resulting in the apprehension of criminals, the investigative detention is, by far, the most commonplace. After all, detentions occur at all hours of the day and night, and in virtually every imaginable public place, including streets, sidewalks, parks, parking lots, schools, shopping malls, and international airports. The outcome of detentions will vary. Some result in arrests. Some provide investigators with useful - often vital - information. Some are fruitless. All are dangerous. To help reduce the danger, and to confirm or dispel their suspicions, officers may do a variety of things.
This course will provide officers with some basic information on the best practices, techniques, and other pertinent information, in order to assist with legal investigative detentions.
Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive two (2) hours of course credit.

Overview
This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Juveniles in Custody online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
The issue of arresting juveniles, and taking them into custody, has been a problem since the late 1700’s. The overriding question for many jurisdictions is what to do with the wide variety of violators that are so different from other offenders. Correctional experts agree that juveniles should be housed separately from adult offenders, however, disagreement abounds. How should enforcement officers manage a group of offenders with violations that range from mere truancy to mass-murderers? This course canvases the history of the juvenile justice system, and discusses factors contributing to juvenile delinquency, as well as the law enforcement perspective on management of juveniles.
Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.
