Overview
This Swipe & Swap™ (Triple I Solutions®) elective online training course is offered by OSS Academy® for Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
At any given time on the highways and roadways of the United States there are an estimated 121 million registered commercial motor vehicles. This number accounts for almost half of the motoring vehicle population traveling on the roads. Despite these staggering numbers of commercial motor vehicles, the industry is vastly overlooked by the majority of patrol-level law enforcement. According to the Bureau of Justice, the United States has 750,340 sworn law enforcement officers, representing federal, state and local jurisdictions and a very small percentage of these focus their efforts on Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE). The lack of enforcement by the “road officer” and the lack of training and understanding of the industry leads to a haven for criminal elements to operate. Swipe & Swap™ - CMV Box Trailer Fraud & Theft Investigation is the first of many upcoming training courses developed as a collaborative effort of Overwatch EDU™ and Triple I Solutions® to assist patrol-level and criminal interdiction officers in the understanding of the commercial vehicle industry and how to identify and investigate the enormous problem of commercial vehicle theft and fraud. This class is heavily dependent on videos and all videos must be watched in their entirety.
Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive sixteen (16) hours of course credit.

Overview
This is the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) mandated Texas State and Federal Law Update #3187 online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers.
In this course, we discussed the multiple bills passed by the 87th Legislature, and decisions the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court that impact Texas Peace Officers, city and county officials, judges, prosecutors, and emergency responders, as well as those of us living and working in Texas. Some of these changes are very dynamic, including the many facets of the Constitutional Carry laws, others directly impact how peace officers go about their duties. There were administrative alterations, changes to existing statutes, and new code requirements, as well as several new laws that are at odds with one another. Important case laws handed down by the US 5th Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court, are outlined and full copies of these decisions are provided to you for study and download.
The resulting new laws, administrative changes, and changes to existing statutes that came out of the 87th Texas Legislative Session will have an impact on Texas Law Enforcement. Unless otherwise noted, Texas Legislative Bills go into effect on September 1, 2021.
Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive six (6) hours of course credit.
