A team of senior law enforcement instructors from OSS Academy® in Spring, Texas have completed an extensive counterintelligence support project that will aid the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in providing specialized border enforcement and interdiction services.  The advanced training project is designed to provide advanced skills for federal enforcement officers investigating human and contraband trafficking.  Interviews with the OSS Academy® staff revealed that major portions of the finished product involved national security and were sensitive.  However, Dr. David Salmon, a member of the team, did say that the operation consisted of providing subject matter expert services that culminated in the creation of 11 very specialized distance learning modules and instructor-led training courses.  Subject matter experts are professionals with specialized expertise, and in this case, counterintelligence and investigation skills.  Dr. Salmon further said the course materials were designed to be accessed through proprietary computer terminals, as well as on-scene training from the back of a pick-up truck, if necessary.  At press time, it was unknown if government cutbacks will delay delivery to field units
