This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Statement Analysis Forensics online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.

This course provides the background and basic process of Statement Analysis, also known as SCAN. It includes tools to aid in making an assessment of the truthfulness of a person’s verbal and written statements, and a Statement Analysis Checklist for your future use when analyzing verbal and written statements.
A companion course to this series is Street Level Interviewing, which focuses on verbal tactics for eliciting the truth.

This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Street Level Interviewing online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
Most interviews are conducted in a room specifically designed for interviewing. Patrol officers and investigators on the street often have to conduct interviews in a public environment with a countless number of distractions that can prevent a successful outcome.
This is the second course of a two part series. The first course, Statement Analysis, focused on linguistic patterns and words that indicate deception. This course will focus on techniques for interviewing that will assist the officer in determining deceit, and in eliciting truthful responses.
Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.

This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Suicide Bomber Response online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
In recent months, suicide bombings have increased significantly in the Middle East, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan. At this time, there has been no successful suicide bombing within the United States since 9/11. Current international trends dictate that it remains prudent to study these incidents, and develop effective public safety guidelines to deal with them. First responders must learn to work together to deter suicide bombers from attacking locations in their jurisdictions, and to safely respond, if an attack occurs.
Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive one (1) hour of course credit.

Overview
This is the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) mandated Suicide Detention & Prevention in Jails #3501 course offered in an online training format for Texas Jailers.
Suicide is often the single most common cause of death in correctional settings. Each year in Texas, jails average 34 to 60 or more inmate suicides while in the custody of a local jail. This course was created to provide county corrections officers with an understanding of offenders with mental impairments, suicidal behavior, and methods for detection and prevention of suicide. Suicide prevention should begin at arrest, and continue throughout the individual's stay in a correctional facility. Experience has shown that many jail suicides can be averted with implementation of a comprehensive prevention program that includes staff training, intake screening, communication between staff, appropriate and safe housing, frequent observation, prompt intervention, and human interaction between staff and inmates. The State of Texas recognizes that the prevention of suicide by inmates is a critical issue to be addressed in all correctional facilities by the correctional staff, because suicide continues to be a leading cause of death within jails, prisons, and juvenile facilities throughout the country.
Please note, the entire course (including any applicable course parts), final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive eight (8) hours of course credit.

Overview
This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Suicide Prevention in Police Lockups online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
Suicide is often the single most common cause of death in police lockups, and when it occurs, responsible officers are often shocked and surprised. In many police departments with holding cells or city detention facilities, officers have received little or no training in how to supervise and monitor detainees. Making matters worse, detainees are often held in cells or detention areas that do not meet state detention standards or even local health and safety codes. What's more, those that are designated to watch detainees are often a multi-tasking desk sergeant, or an injured officer, that … checks on detainees every now and then or when they call me. This course provides officers with an awareness of the serious, life-threatening, and career damaging threat posed by suicidal individuals while being temporarily detained in your lockup. It discusses how to recognize the signs of pending suicide, and actions you can take to manage the threat, save lives, and reduce your personal and agency liability.
Please note, the entire course final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive two (2) hours of course credit.

Student Accolades:
I completed the program last night. I must say, I am impressed. I am a Chief of Police in California and am looking to relocate to Texas. The OSS Academy has afforded me a great opportunity to painlessly complete some of the training requirements I need. My goal is to take the TCOLE exam in the next couple of months, then continue to use OSS to load up on more required training as I seek employment. See you at the next course! Best,
- D. Steidle, Chief in California
I was just writing to say thank you for what you guys do. I was out of the police for 9 years a decided I missed it and was ready to get back in. I signed up and took the courses I needed and passed my reactivation test the first try. I am currently back out on patrol and loving it. Again Thank You,
- J. Payne, Texas Peace Officer
I would like to take this time to thank you for your guidance and amazing customer service. Everything about the course was clear and concise. The study material was sufficient and I will be referencing that material as I proceed with the process. I highly recommend OSS Academy to everyone thinking of crossing over to Texas Law Enforcement.
- E. Carrasquillo, Out of State Peace Officer
I took the state test today and scored a 85 1st attempt. Thx for the help
- J. Carter, Texas Peace Officer
I was able to retire from the New York State Police and transfer to the Bexar County Sheriff's Department, and I couldn't have done it without your assistance. Thanks!
- K. Page, Texas Peace Officer
Good afternoon ... It took a while but I was finally able to get a test date for this morning. The test took about me about an hour and I scored a 91. I don’t think I could have done a whole lot better as there is a great deal to know, and I did not attend a police academy, but am a retired federal agent who took your supplemental course. I’m appreciative of having been able to complete your supplemental course ... at my convenience, as opposed to months at an academy. Kindest regards,
- J. Gelista, Texas Peace Officer

This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) elective SWAT Management online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
Our course addresses the basic development and operation of Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams. We provide essential background material and supporting documentation to provide a deeper understanding of the philosophy behind such teams and their various strategies. Tactical response situations often present unusual and elevated risks to residents and officers involved. The high profile nature of critical incidents, which are generally beyond the resolution capability of first responders, focuses attention on the outcome, which often becomes the barometer by which the agency and its leadership are measured.
Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive seven (7) hours of course credit.

This Swipe & Swap™ (Triple I Solutions®) elective online Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) training course is offered by OSS Academy® for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.
At any given time on the highways and roadways of the United States there are an estimated 121 million registered commercial motor vehicles. This number accounts for almost half of the motoring vehicle population traveling on the roads. Despite these staggering numbers of commercial motor vehicles, the industry is vastly overlooked by the majority of patrol-level law enforcement. According to the Bureau of Justice, the United States has 750,340 sworn law enforcement officers, representing federal, state and local jurisdictions and a very small percentage of these focus their efforts on Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE). The lack of enforcement by the “road officer” and the lack of training and understanding of the industry leads to a haven for criminal elements to operate. Swipe & Swap™ - CMV Box Trailer Fraud & Theft Investigation is the first of many upcoming training courses developed as a collaborative effort of Overwatch EDU™ and Triple I Solutions® to assist patrol-level and criminal interdiction officers in the understanding of the commercial vehicle industry and how to identify and investigate the enormous problem of commercial vehicle theft and fraud. This class is heavily dependent on videos and all videos must be watched in their entirety.
Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive sixteen (16) hours of course credit.
