Overview

This is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) elective Investigating Financial Crimes & Reporting #4103 online training course offered for Texas Peace Officers, Jailers, and Telecommunicators.

Al Capone was an infamous gangster motivated by control and money. Though crimes may be predicated on other motivations, if a financial benefit is sought, a financial crime often accompanies other deadly offenses as a byproduct. As a first responder, you can always follow the money in your investigation.

Understanding financial crimes such as money laundering, identity theft, fraud, counterfeiting, embezzlement, tax evasion, forgery, bribery, and other offenses will make you a more effective first responder.

Accurate reporting of offenses creates the integrity of financial crime investigations and aids in prosecuting offenders. This course introduces these concepts and serves as a guide to help you navigate through some of the more complex offenses. Remember, one of our most notorious organized crime bosses was thwarted through a Financial Crimes investigation.

Please note, the entire course, final exam(s), and course evaluation(s) must be completed in order to receive four (4) hours of course credit.
